We've got more exciting news on the development of Rupert Grint's upcoming movie 'CBGB.' Casting has been coming along nicely according to an article that states over 900 people came to audition for a role or to be an extra in the film in Savannah, Ga. As previously announced, Rupert will be playing a guitarist named Cheetah Chrome, from the band called Dead Boys, in the film alongside Alan Rickman and others. Cheetah Chrome will also be appearing in the film as a cameo and in this article, director Randall Miller said, "Cheetah is looking forward to meeting his 7-year-old son's big screen idol."
Co-writer Jody Savin said in an interview, “When we were writing the script, we wanted Rupert to play Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys. He just looks so much like him. And we’re excited to see Rupert in a dog collar, with a scowl.”
