Late last year, we reported that Rupert Grint narrarated a documentary called "We Are Aliens" for the National Space Centre in Leicester, England. Aside from a short audio clip released in January, not much else has been seen or heard... until now.
The official website for "We Are Aliens" published several short video clips from the documentary, ranging in topics from the Mars Rover to Jupiter's moon, Europa. Anyone with an interest in science will definitely find these clips fascinating.
View all of the clips AT THIS LINK or check out two of them below.
Rupert and the team here at RupertGrint.net have been partnering for the last few months with a new charity incentive called The Future Project, who work with high-school students across America to build real working projects based on their dreams.
One of these projects held a story which touched us.
Mariely Garcia is a 17 year old student from New York. In her life, she has faced and overcome cancer. Now, she is trying to spread a simple but powerful message across the nation to fellow teenagers: "You are Perfect".
"Growing up, I was taught that we each had something special to offer the world.
The fact that suicide is the third leading cause of death among adolescents, that 6 in 10 girls stop doing what they love because they feel badly about their appearance, and that every 7 minutes a child is bullied didn't make sense to me.
It became obvious that young people were not aware of their inherent perfection...and something had to be done about it. I went to a Future Project event one night and left knowing that somehow I had to change this. But I wasn't sure how. I got home to an empty house and started pacing around until the words "perfectly made" came to mind. Over the last year, I've been working to mould the project into what it really means to me."
So, we asked Rupert for help.
You can join the cause on YouTube by uploading a video of yourself and repeating the message, then titling and tagging it with "I am Perfect: Your Name" and the hashtag #perfrev.
We've got an exciting addition to our music section for this month! Great Caesar is a six-piece brass-centric rock band from Brooklyn, NY! You may remember them from our Valentine's Day Music Special a few weeks back, in which John of Great Caesar performed a version of his own wrock song, "Ginny," exclusively for RupertGrint.net!
And now, please take a moment to read about Great Caesar and check out their music on their website!
Not only did your friendship with Harry lead to the blossom of his romance with Ginny, or the fact that you saved his life whilst retrieving the Sword of Gryffindor...
...you also gave us Rupert.
In honour of Weasley being Our King, the staff of RupertGrint.net have put together our favourite Ron movie moments from the Harry Potter series. We hope you enjoy and please do share yours with us in the comments section below.
Grint will play the title role of Clyde, the well-meaning and sweet yet slightly neurotic guy who never feels like he really fits in. The avid comic book reader considers himself a borderline agoraphobic with mild to severe anxiety issues who wishes he were a super hero himself. When Clyde inherits a $100,000 a month inheritance from his long-dead eccentric Uncle Bill, he decides that the cash will be his secret super power and will use it only for good and reward the good-hearted.
Not much else is known about the project at this time. A pilot is just the first step in the development of a TV show. It may or may not be ordered to series by CBS. We will of course continue keeping you updated as we find out more.
Just a few hours before the film is scheduled to make its festival premiere, the cast and crew of Charlie Countryman sat down to speak to press.
Our personal highlights from Rupert?:
"It's refreshing to be on a new set. After playing the same character for 11 years it's nice to do something different. The film and role ticked every box for me. It's completely the opposite of Ron."
"I loved Romania, though I didn't know what to expect at first. It didn't take me long to fall in love with the country but it did take a while to settle in. Shortly after I got there I was chased by wild dogs!"
"Drugs are a big part of my character in this film, which was something new to explore. I had so much fun and Shia was great…it was an experience."
HQ's from the conference will be rolling in shortly - be sure to keep your eyes on the site!
