There's been a lot of casting announcements recently for the film CBGB. As you may recall, Rupert was cast in the role of punk guitarist Cheetah Chrome, and filming is slated to begin June 25 in Savannah, Georgia. Other actors (in addition to the previously announced Alan Rickman as lead Hilly Kristal) who will be joining the ensemble include: Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, Stana Katic, Joel David Moore, Johnny Galecki, Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters as Iggy Pop and Mickey Sumner as Patti Smith. If you live in the Georgia area, you might be interested to know that a call for extras recently went out:
The open casting call is from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. June 12 at the studio, 2315 Louisville Road. Specifically, they're looking for music lovers, musicians, motorcyclists, '70s car owners and people with a '70s "look."
Please note this does not necessarily mean you would get to be in any scenes with Rupert. But for any aspiring actors, music lovers and film buffs, it could be a great opportunity!
