It is August 24th, and I can't be the only one having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that Rupert Grint is 24.
Although I suspect I am the only one with a teenage daughter banning me from using that expression.
How can we put this into perspective?
In 2001, when Rupert first burst onto cinema screens, Orlando Bloom was just twenty-four. And he was born in 1977, the year of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. And she met her great-great-uncle, the Duke of Connaught, and his godfather was the Duke of Wellington. And he defeated Napoleon.
Napoleon Napoleon, not Napoleon Dynamite.
And Rupert loves Napoleon Dynamite.
See, Claire, I told you I couldn't write this post.
No, wait, I think I've got it.
When did you first see this picture?
On 21st August 2000.
A squidge before his twelfth birthday.
One half of his life ago.
One half a Rupert.
So, to celebrate the fact, we want to wish all of Rupert a very happy birthday and we want him Trending like a mad thing, all over Twitter - here is a handy link for you to Tweet : Very Happy Birthday, Rupert Grint! #HappyBirthdayRupertGrint #RupertGrintNet.
A "Happy Birthday" from here, twenty minutes from Leavesden, where he did rather a lot of filming, a "Gratulerer med dagen" from Norway, and Cross of Honour, a "La mulți ani" from Romania and The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman and a "Happy Birthday, y'all!" from Georgia and CBGB.
And keep an eye on RGN, for the rest of the day - we have competition results and a rather exclusive interview yet to come.
