Rupert Grint Lands Another Role in the film CBGB

In addition to last week's previously announced casting in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, currently filming in Romania, Variety is reporting that Rupert has also landed a role in the film CBGB alongside Alan Rickman.

"CBGB" stars Alan Rickman as CBGB owner Hilly Kristal and the New York City club's impact on the underground music scene, highlighting artists like the Talking Heads, the Ramones and Blondie. Grint will play Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys, who played a prominent role during the club's rise.

CBGB  is also being directed Randall Miller (who also cast Rupert in The Drummer) and is expected to begin shooting this June. Filming for The Drummer has been pushed back to the fall, as previously reported.

Stay tuned to RG.net for the latest on all of Rupert's upcoming projects!

Happy Birthday Stephanie!

Today is a very special day - it is our opportunity to send our love and best birthday wishes to our very own Steph.

You have simply no idea what a difference she makes to us - and therefore to you - and I have absolutely no idea how it is already a year since we did That Thing for her last birthday!

Have an utterly wonderful day, sweetpea, we love you.

Rupert Grint Joins the Cast of 'The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman'

(Updated) Buried within this ScreenDaily article comes news that Rupert Grint has joined the cast of the upcoming action-comedy film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.

The film stars Shia LaBeouf as the titular character, directed by Fredrik Bond, and also stars Melissa Leo and Evan Rachel Wood. Filming begins May 21st in Romania.

Below is the snyopsis for Charlie Countryman. At the moment, we're unsure of which character Rupert will be playing, but we can confirm this is definitely happening!

Charlie Countryman (LaBeouf) was just a normal guy…until he fell in love with the one girl who will probably get him killed.  When Charlie meets the absolutely irresistible Gabi she’s already been claimed by Nigel, an insanely violent crime boss with a gang of thugs at his disposal.  Armed with little more than his wit and naïve charm, Charlie endures one bruising beat down after another to woo Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way.  Finally his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that he’s left with only one way out; to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die?
