Rupert Grint Chronology: October - December 2007

7 October 2007: Rupert sent a letter in response to his 19th birthday card from RupertGrint.net’s staff and fans posted. He wrote:

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you, I really loved my birthday card; the illustrations are wicked and spot on, as for the messages wow!! I'm still reading them – I'm up to 2253 (hence my reply being ages!!)

I can’t believe I'm 19, I had a brilliant time this year visiting Paris, Canada, NY and LA - the hand, wand, and foot ceremony was an incredible experience, of which I will never forget.

I had a cool summer- Lanzarote was brilliant (and I didn’t even burn, ha ha!!!)

Now I'm really looking forward to start filming the Half-Blood Prince. I'm sure it's going to be a great film, once again. As always, I'd like to thank you all for your support – it’s a great feeling to know that you are all behind me and if I could, I’d send you all a big hug and an ice cream from my van.

9 October 2007: NECA announced a new talking Ron Weasley action figure in conjunction with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The action figure will say the following phrases:

·  Who are you, and what have you done with Hermione Granger?
·  I let her do that... It's good manners, isn't it? It was completely intentional.
·  Combat? What's he think we're forming some sort of wizard army?
·  We're not going to use magic?
·  Don't worry... I'll go easy on him.
·  Stupefy!

12 October 2007: Rupert is interviewed by Heat Magazine while at the National Movie Awards last month. Heat’s website describes their video by saying:

"Hottie Ron Weasley (muggle name Rupert Grint) was grilled by us and look how adorable he is under pressure. His Cheshire-Cat grin and indie-boy hair proves that he’s grown into a fine young man."

18 October 2007: Driving Lessons released on DVD in Australia. The DVDs sold extremely fast and were out of stock almost as soon as they hit the shelves.

16 December 2007: Rupert Grint fan HermioneRubin spots Rupert at the Tate Modern and sends RupertGrint.net a photo of herself with Rupert.

She also gives an account of her experience meeting him:

While my mom and I were at the Tate Modern Museum in London (we were there with my dad, brother and grandparents) I saw Rupert Grint. So my mom took pictures of me and him, plus I got an autograph. Forget the Tower of London, Covent Gardens, West End Theater, Yo Sushi! and Oxford Street, not to mention the other two cities in England: Stratford and Oxford (All of which were still amazing btw). I met Rupert Grint!

19 December 2007: The Biography Channel airs a new one hour long documentary titled “The Harry Potter Kids,” which profiles Harry Potter stars Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

Excerpts:

"He's someone who's got skills as a comedic actor, and the role is quite comedic, and I think that was kind of evident from the very beginning, and that's what they were looking for. "
-Charles Gant, Heat Magazine

"I interviewed him in October of 2006, he had on a pair of USA Chuck Taylor converse sneakers; I saw him a year later, and he's wearing the same exact shoes. And I'm thinking to myself, like, 'I'm in the Harry Potter franchise, I could probably afford a new pair of shoes.' But not this kid, he doesn't care, he's just...Rupert Grint! Just, like, this regular dude."
-Ben Lyons, E!
